The Eid prayer has two raka’at performed in the normal way, with the addition of six Takbirs(Allahu Akbar).
- In the first raka’at, after the completion of the quiet recitation of Thana’ (Subhanakallahumma .:.). , the Imam will recite Takbirs three times. At the first two calls of Takbirs you should raise your hands to the ears, and after reciting Takbirs in a low voice, you should bring your hands down and leave them earthwards.
- But, after the third Takbir, you should fold them as you do in the normal prayers.
- The Imam will then recite Sura Fatiha and the salah will then be performed in its usual way until the second raka’at has been completed and we stand upright before bowing down into ruku’ position.
- The Imam will recite Allahu Akbar four times. At the first three calls of Allahu Akbar, you should raise your hands to the ears, and after reciting Allahu Akbar in a low voice, you should bring your hands down and leave them earthwards.
- But, after the Fourth Takbir, you do not raise your hands but just say, quietly ‘Allahu Akbar and bow down for your ruku’ and the rest is performed in the normal way.
